Holding Patterns opened in 2024 after owners Jack, Rob & Lynsey decided to bring a different kind of social space to Leeds’ town centre.
Inspired by the listening bar movement that’s spread from Japan to London, along with Leeds’ consistent dedication to new culture, Holding Patterns is making space in the city for audiophiles, coffee geeks, writers, readers and anyone looking for a unique place in Leeds for hanging out. We have a 60-cap main room, with a 10-cap nook in the back, perfect for writing, reading and after-work drinks.
A partnership between Jack Simpson (Hyde Park Book Club, Eiger Studios, Live Wire & Leeds Lit Fest), along with Rob (senior lecturer in Music Production) & Lynsey Harrison (Renaissance Hair & Beauty), Holding Patterns builds on the owners’ success in creating community-centred spaces.
The building once homed radio station KMAH; it currently has a tattoo studio on the first floor. Creativity and community is a core part of its history. Holding Patterns will host artists & DJs every Friday and Saturday night. During daytime, we hope visitors pop in to read, write & relax with quality music in an intimate setting, right in the centre of the city.
Tickets and details for all events will be shared on our events page and the Holding Patterns Instagram.
